High Performance teaching

As a Body Control teacher, I keep up my CPD every year in order to maintain skills and enhance my knowledge. This means you get a high quality experience and will benefit from my years of training and experience.

Juliette Watkins FHEA

As a dancer and a circus artiste, one thing I learned early on is that it is essential to pay attention to the health and well-being of your own body. Throughout my teaching career I have tried to instil good practice into the work of my students and clients in regard to their own health and well being too. Pilates has been an essential tool in this respect and is now my main focus as a teacher.

I am a Level 4 qualified instructor (there are currently only 10 instructors in the UK with this qualification) with several additional areas of specialisation:

I am a qualified Back4Good practitioner which means I can offer a Healthy Backs programme to those who suffer from back pain. Using Pilates based exercises, this is an effective way to reduce and manage back pain by restoring healthy function.

I love working with people who have physical lives, whether professionally or as a leisure activity. I have many years of experience in this regard and sessions are tailored towards individual objectives. Of course injury prevention and rehab are features of Pilates training, but did you know that it can also enhance your performance by making you more stable, more flexible, and more movement efficient? There are numerous benefits to Pilates training, which is why you will see many sports men and women and physical performers of all kinds now practising Pilates. I am also able to offer Pilates for Golfers - specialist classes designed to help improve posture, movement patterns and efficiency.

I am qualified to teach Ante natal clients and Post natal clients. This qualification is essential to anyone teaching these clients as there are many changes a woman has to go through and which have to be taken into account in order to exercise safely.

I have a keen interest in teaching older clients and have gained qualifications in Bone Health, which focuses on Osteoporosis and Osteopenia, and the Older Persons qualification which covers the various pathologies associated with the ageing process. There are many things to consider as our bodies age, and an appropriate level of exercise is one of them. It is vital to keep moving in order to stay healthy, and Pilates is an excellent way to do this.
